Official Statement from Creativos Unidos
Released October 23, 2025FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECREATIVOS UNIDOS EXPANDS INTO CREATIVE STUDIO TO EMPOWER LATINO ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND CREATIVE SUSTAINABILITYCreativos Unidos, the Latino-led creative collective known for its community-driven events, has announced its evolution into a full creative studio providing marketing, content, and business consulting services. The new studio model marks a major step toward long-term sustainability — allowing the collective to fund its own cultural programs, pay its creative collaborators, and expand its impact across Oregon and beyond.Over the past year, Creativos Unidos has become a cultural force, building bridges between Latino creatives, entrepreneurs, and community organizations through events like Cueste lo que Cueste and Sembrando Raíces. The collective’s mission has always been to create spaces where Latino creatives can connect, collaborate, and thrive. With this next chapter, that mission is expanding into a self-sustaining ecosystem. The new Creativos Unidos Studio will offer creative services including photography, video production, brand storytelling, and business strategy — enabling clients to access culturally grounded, high-quality creative support while directly reinvesting in the community. Revenue from studio projects will fund future events, programs, and employment opportunities for local creatives. This transition was officially presented during Pitch Latino at OMSI, where Creativos Unidos was selected as the first-ever pitch for the inaugural Oregon Latino Entrepreneurship Day. The recognition underscores the collective’s growing role in shaping Oregon’s creative and entrepreneurial landscape and advancing economic equity for Latino creators.Creativos Unidos invites collaborators, organizations, and brands who share its vision to join in building an ecosystem rooted in culture, creativity, and community resilience.

Official Statement from Creativos Unidos
Released June 11, 2025FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECUESTE LO QUE CUESTE AND SIN PERMISO WEEKEND CENTER INDEPENDENT CULTURAL POWER IN PORTLAND
Creativos Unidos, Global Based, and JuntosPDX Align Timelines for a Landmark Weekend of Latino-Led EventsPortland, OR — From June 5–8, three independently organized events took place across Portland. Each one was led by Latino creatives and shaped by its own vision. Though distinct in execution, the events were collectively framed under the name Sin Permiso Weekend, a shared gesture toward autonomy, urgency, and cultural refusal. The weekend opened with Cueste lo que Cueste, hosted by Creativos Unidos at the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA). With over 75 people in attendance, the event brought together artists, vendors, and organizers from Portland and Los Angeles for an evening of community-rooted programming. The event featured an intimate artist panel, a cultural marketplace, and an after-hours gathering at L’Atelier Yaffe, a Black-owned creative space.Over the following days, Global Based hosted a sold-out 3BallMTY show at Holocene, and Juntos closed the weekend with Cuentos de Triunfo at Milagro Theatre, uplifting stories from Latino cultural leaders and entrepreneurs. Each collective maintained its own leadership and approach. The choice to frame the weekend with a shared name reflected something deeper. Our movements are already aligned in purpose, even when independently produced.

---THIS WAS NOT BUSINESS AS USUALEach event offered something unique, from political storytelling to sonic resistance to intergenerational wisdom. What united them was a refusal to wait for institutional validation. These events were led and funded through community power, not through official channels. And they did not need to be.Artists shared truths of creative survival, migration, protest, and the tension of holding both softness and resistance. For many, especially Portlanders, it was the first time their lived experiences were reflected from the mic. These were not generic cultural panels. They were real stories grounded in struggle, community, and love.

---CREATIVOS UNIDOS: A COLLECTIVE ALREADY IN MOTIONCueste lo que Cueste was the most visible offering yet from Creativos Unidos, but the collective has long been active. From artist interviews and open studios to cultural storytelling and regional collaboration, Creativos Unidos exists to build and protect creative power from the inside out. The event marked a shift in visibility, not in purpose.

---TO CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS: WE ARE ALREADY MOVINGWe invite museums, curators, and cultural institutions to look beyond the familiar urban centers and recognize the cultural labor happening in places like Portland. Artists here are not waiting to be discovered. They are building infrastructure, crafting stories, and forming cross-regional relationships that deserve to be seen. The stories shared during Sin Permiso Weekend reflect larger truths across the West Coast. These include migration, resistance, and joy. Understanding them means listening beyond the expected orbit.

 Official Statement from Creativos Unidos
Released April 24, 2025FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEAfter months of work, and following early promises of funding, logistical support, and creative flexibility, Creativos Unidos has decided to move forward independently, while continuing our proud partnership with the Pacific Northwest College of Art.Our work has always centered on creating real opportunities for our Creativos, regardless of funding.
What we’ve built has come solely through the labor and love of our community, and from those who align with our vision and speed. We recognize that many institutions in Portland are under strain.
But the impact of those internal struggles has created unacceptable delays, and we cannot allow those delays to hold back a movement that is already in motion. Our artists are ready. Our community is ready. And so are we.We appreciate the individuals who showed up in good faith, and we hold no resentment. We believe it is systemic inequity, not personal failure, that creates these patterns of delay and disconnection.Creativos Unidos moves forward with clarity and conviction, continuing our mission to foster radical creative collaboration among Latino artists across the West Coast and beyond. We remain proudly partnered with the Pacific Northwest College of Art and invite you to join us on June 5 for an unforgettable night of cross-city collaboration, artistic expression, and collective power. For press inquiries: [email protected]
Creativos Unidos is a grassroots collective of Latino artists, organizers, and cultural workers building across the West Coast and beyond. We came together out of necessity. To create what didn’t exist. To support each other through struggle. To build a future where our voices, stories, and images aren’t just included — they lead. Our members reflect the rich diversity of our communities, with roots across the East and West Coasts, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Indigenous and Afro-Latino traditions. We represent many lived experiences, but we move as one.We host photography collaboration nights, coworking days, and community-led events that uplift artists, strengthen our networks, and create space for collective growth. Some of us are seasoned professionals. Some are just getting started. All of us are in this together.Everything we build is created with intention. We do not wait for permission. We do not rely on corporations or institutions to define our worth. We move with each other. We move with purpose. We are independent. We are principled. Somos unidos.Creativos Unidos.
Somos independientes. Somos firmes. Somos unidos.Creativos Unidos. Cueste lo que cueste.
