Creativos Unidos invites you to an evening of radical collaboration, cultural memory, and creative defiance. On June 5, artists from Portland and Los Angeles will come together for a one-night showcase of visual storytelling, artistic dialogue, and community-rooted expression. Each piece in this event was created by a pair of artists who had never made work together before.
They were invited to collaborate across distance, discipline, and lived experience.---This night is for us.
It is a reminder that when we move together, we do not need institutions to validate our worth or structure our joy.
It is a celebration of what we already know:
We are powerful, resourceful, creative, and connected, whether or not the systems around us are ready to support it.We are not waiting. We are building.---Come witness what happens when two cities, two artists, two voices, and two histories meet in a single piece of art. This is a space to feel, to see, to remember.
A space to be with each other in truth and imagination.---Free and open to the public

No estamos esperando.

It is the understanding that our communities act without waiting. We create what we need. We show up for each other. Official Statement from Creativos Unidos
Released April 24, 2025FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEAfter months of work, and following early promises of funding, logistical support, and creative flexibility, Creativos Unidos has decided to move forward independently, while continuing our proud partnership with the Pacific Northwest College of Art.Our work has always centered on creating real opportunities for our Creativos, regardless of funding.
What we’ve built has come solely through the labor and love of our community, and from those who align with our vision and speed. We recognize that many institutions in Portland are under strain.
But the impact of those internal struggles has created unacceptable delays, and we cannot allow those delays to hold back a movement that is already in motion. Our artists are ready. Our community is ready. And so are we.We appreciate the individuals who showed up in good faith, and we hold no resentment. We believe it is systemic inequity, not personal failure, that creates these patterns of delay and disconnection.Creativos Unidos moves forward with clarity and conviction, continuing our mission to foster radical creative collaboration among Latino artists across the West Coast and beyond. We remain proudly partnered with the Pacific Northwest College of Art and invite you to join us on June 5 for an unforgettable night of cross-city collaboration, artistic expression, and collective power. For press inquiries: [email protected]
Quienes Somos
(About Us)
Creativos Unidos is a grassroots collective of Latino artists, organizers, and cultural workers building across the West Coast and beyond. We came together out of necessity. To create what didn’t exist. To support each other through struggle. To build a future where our voices, stories, and images aren’t just included — they lead. Our members reflect the rich diversity of our communities, with roots across the East and West Coasts, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Indigenous and Afro-Latino traditions. We represent many lived experiences, but we move as one.We host photography collaboration nights, coworking days, and community-led events that uplift artists, strengthen our networks, and create space for collective growth. Some of us are seasoned professionals. Some are just getting started. All of us are in this together.Everything we build is created with intention. We do not wait for permission. We do not rely on corporations or institutions to define our worth. We move with each other. We move with purpose. We are independent. We are principled. Somos unidos.Creativos Unidos.
Somos independientes. Somos firmes. Somos unidos.Creativos Unidos. Cueste lo que cueste.
